Since 2017, sustainability has been part of our DNA at Gorman-Rupp Europe. With roots going back to 1933, we’ve always believed in smart engineering, quality you can count on, and long-term value. That same mindset now drives our environmental approach.
We call it “Where Blue Meets Green.”
Blue reflects over 90 years of engineering know-how. Green shows our commitment to reducing environmental impact with practical, reliable solutions that help customers move forward sustainably. It’s how we build, performance and responsibility side by side.
Gorman-Rupp Europe is certified on the Dutch CO₂ Performance Ladder, a Dutch sustainability standard that drives measurable reduction of carbon emissions. It helps us track, improve, and reduce our carbon footprint. It’s built into our daily operations to save energy, deliver measurable results, and meet certified goals.
Our energy policy? Work smart, minimize waste, and support customers’ sustainability targets.
Water is at the heart of everything we do.
Every day, Gorman-Rupp products support critical water management applications around the world. From flood control and wastewater handling to environmental and infrastructure projects, our solutions help customers manage one of our most valuable resources: water.
As a company dedicated to pumping solutions, we recognize the importance of healthy and resilient water systems. For this reason, Gorman-Rupp Europe supports WWF’s Room for Water initiative as a WWF Business Supporter.
The initiative focuses on giving rivers the space they need to flow naturally, helping to improve flood resilience, water quality, biodiversity, and the long-term health of our waterways.
Supporting responsible water management is a natural extension of what we do. Through our partnership with WWF, we contribute to initiatives that help protect and strengthen water systems for future generations.
At Gorman-Rupp Europe, we believe that our responsibility goes beyond providing pumping solutions. It also means supporting efforts that contribute to the sustainable management of water resources and the environments that depend on them.
Gorman-Rupp was the first to come up with integrated solution where electrically driven pump sets can be connected to a standard construction power outlet, a mobile battery pack, or even an existing car charging station. That was a breakthrough at that time !
Today, we have a wide range of E-Line electric-driven mobile pump sets offering a flexible, future-focused solution for reducing emissions on the job sites. These latest technology units combine mobility, reliability, ease of use, and environmental performance- ready for today’s demands and tomorrow’s challenges.
All Gorman-Rupp diesel-driven pump sets meet the latest EU Stage V emission standards and are fully compatible with HVO diesel, a renewable fuel made from residual waste streams. This enables a certified CO₂ reduction of up to 89%, without changing equipment.
Our European office in Waardenburg is equipped with a solar installation, making the facility electrically energy-neutral. Each year, we produce more energy than we consume- contributing clean power back to the grid.
We make sustainability part of our daily operations:
Our facility is cleaned using citrus-based products made from peel waste
Modular phones with ethical sourcing and longer lifecycles
Our standard range Stage V diesel pumps don’t need AdBlue, making them easier to use and cleaner to run
We actively contribute to sustainability within our sector by participating in several leading initiatives.
Sustainability Working Group
Promoting low-emission, quiet equipment in the rental market
Certified member of the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification program
At Gorman-Rupp, sustainability also means smart design. Our pump systems are engineered for easy maintenance, long service life, and minimal downtime that directly contribute to sustainable outcomes.
By reducing the need for frequent repairs, replacements, or service visits, we help lower energy use, cut waste, and minimize emissions over the full product lifecycle. It’s a practical, efficient approach that benefits both the environment and the bottom line.
